Welcome to our blog Sophia!

Hi! I’m a small business owner based in San Francisco, where I handcraft candles with care and creativity. A fun fact you might not know—I just welcomed a new member to my little team! Her name is Jackie, a playful golden retriever puppy who’s already proving to be the best studio assistant (and occasional wax sniffer). When I’m not pouring candles, I’m chasing after her and soaking up the joy she brings.

Tell us about your candles!

I create candles that help people pause, breathe, and find a moment of calm—just like they do for me. Working two jobs, my favorite part of the day is when I light one of my candles and everything else fades. It doesn’t matter how the day went; that flame means it’s time to relax my mind and body.

I want to share that same peace with others who need a moment to themselves. To me, candles represent calm, bright and relaxation. No matter what the day brought, that soft glow reminds me there’s still light in life. The calm, the warmth, the quiet reset - that’s the kind of energy I hope to share with every candle I make.

We love the sharing philosophy behind your candles. How do you incorporate that into your craft?

My candle business is about so much more than just making products—it’s about creating moments of care, comfort, and connection. Every candle is made with intention, and I pour a little bit of love into each one, hoping it brings someone a sense of peace or joy. My identity shapes not just what I create, but why I create: to bring warmth, intention, and a sense of belonging to others. As a small business owner, it means the world to know my work can brighten someone’s day and help build a stronger, more mindful community—one candle at a time.

What do you find most rewarding in candle making?

One of my favorite parts of the process is when I finish making a fresh batch of candles and think about where each one will go. I feel proud knowing that something I created might bring someone a moment of peace in a busy or overwhelming day. Even if life feels chaotic, lighting a candle can be a small reminder to slow down, breathe, and take a minute just for yourself.

What are you looking forward to?

Right now, I’m personally excited to go home after a long day, light a candle, and spend time with my puppy, Jackie. It’s my favorite way to unwind—just a cozy night, a calming scent, and her playful energy by my side.

Professionally, I’m looking forward to making more and more candles and sharing them with the world. It brings me so much joy to know that something I create can bring comfort, peace, and a little light into someone else’s day.
