My name is Jordan and I'm based in LA but born and raised in the Bay. I create and weave stories together in many forms. This matters to me because I believe that stories are the currency of our culture and the ones well told can shift mindsets and open hearts. A fun fact you may not know is that I've lived in three different countries and traveled to over 30 countries.
I fell in love with the camera while living in Beijing. When I moved back, I tried my hand at corporate life and felt my soul dying. Simultaneously, my best friend and now long time business partner invited me to help out on a music video set. It felt so right and I fell in love again. I didn't know what my life would look like, but I knew that I wanted to create things. I've been following that feeling ever since.
I draw a lot of inspiration from the ocean. The water is the place I feel happiest and most humbled. It teaches me about flow, respect, and how to slow down. Whether I'm diving or surfing, the water reminds me that I'm not the one in charge.
As I've gotten older, I'm not sure if it's something that I always put front and center in my creative process, I realize my AAPI identity has strong undercurrents in what I create too. From philosophy or ancient wisdom or family values, little lessons I've learned along the way tend to sneak into my stories.
We are close to finishing book two of Adventures of Harley. This one we went off the deep end with the story ;) I felt super proud when we finished book one of Adventures of Harley. This is a project that is near and dear to my heart and honestly my most favorite things I've created thus far. I've loved breathing life into the story with Remo.
I'm also excited about the two films we are working on. One we are very very close to finishing! It's been years in the making, so can't wait to get that across the finish line.
