Welcome to our blog Chanamon!

Hi! My name is Chanamon and I'm an illustrator and designer based in San Francisco. Fun facts: I am Thai-American, and I'm obsessed with my dog Whiskey :)

What drives you to create?

I love creating things that bring people a little joy and connect people to one another. It's wonderful to see others resonate with my work and to connect with them on our shared experiences and cultures. Sometimes the realities of the world are a little rough to handle, but it's important that we still enjoy the little things in life and build community with those around us so we feel less alone.

What does community mean to you and your work?

I am really driven to build community and create connection through my work because of the mental health struggles I've dealt with over the last decade. The hard moments in life can be difficult to talk about and mental health issues are often stigmatized, so I want to create an environment where it's normalized to talk about all aspects of life, good and bad. I strive to create community so that people learn who else may be going through the same experiences as they are and feel less alone.

What have you been cooking up recently?

I'm really excited about my latest product collection, Book Club. I've really reclaimed my status of book nerd in the last few years, after a long time of avoiding reading or thinking it wasn't for me just because academia convinced me "real" readers only read certain types of books. The truth is that anyone should enjoy reading whatever kind of books they want!

My new Book Club collection celebrates this love of reading and books, as well as the literary institutions that need our support like public libraries and independent book stores. I'm excited to share my love for reading and connect with other book lovers too.

Where can people find you?
