Join us in celebrating the launch of Curious Ducks and Comfy Cats, a cozy environment-based coloring book by local illustrator Julia Peng. In this joint talk & workshop, Julia will be speaking in conversation with fellow artist Madeline Liu about their respective illustration journeys and finding their artistic voice. This will be followed by a coloring workshop led by Julia, where guests can work on one or more pages of their choice from the book. Julia will walk through her coloring process from start to finish, from color blocking, to shading and highlights, to adding personal touches. Alcohol markers and colored pencils will be provided, but feel free to also bring your own materials!

Join Mo Pai Mahjong Club for an afternoon of mahjong, macarons, and unlimited tea pours in The Clubhouse while we listen to a curated playlist, sip, snack, and shuffle tiles. We are partnering with Moonlit Mercantile Tea Company for a high-quality assortment of teas and baker Sandy Kuma for delicious, mahjong-themed macarons. Mo Pai Mahjong Club hosts multigenerational Hong Kong style mahjong community events and parties, including the open air "Mahjong on Waverly" tables during the monthly BeChinatown Night Market.

Join us at On Waverly for the launch of Jasmine Fang's debut picture book, arriving in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival! Jasmine will be in conversation with On Waverly founder Cynthia Huie, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from writing the book. ​ Expect a morning of storytelling, mid-autumn festivities, mooncake samples, activity sheets for the little ones, and a raffle. All ages welcome. Free to attend. Pre-registration is kindly requested, so we can plan accordingly. Walk-ins welcome as space allows.
