While waiting to cross the busy Columbus Avenue, the artist saw this very poised, faux leather coat clad lady pass by. She cut a striking figure with her high cheekbones, piercing eyes and perfectly coiffed blue hair that was blowing in the wind. This drawing is a snapshot of her on that sunny day against the ever colorful and busy North Beach backdrop.
These crayon and colour pencil drawings are a part of the artist's ongoing project documenting the daily life and the distinct character of San Francisco and its residents as they navigate their day. These artworks encapsulate the joy of discovering a place by slowing down, observing deeply and capturing fleeting moments.
