About Jennifer Zee: "I'm a print maker, clay artist and scientific illustrator. I've hand drawn illustrations extensively for the education and exhibit departments of science and nature museums; my MSc in Biology and MFA in Art & Design make me uniquely fitted to combine the two disciplines.
"For the last seven years I’ve focused on printmaking. I design, carve my own blocks and then print by hand in my home studio in San Francisco. I specialize in meticulously designed, beautiful tributes to the natural world.
"I have a particular fondness for marine animals, geology and non-typically-charismatic mini-fauna. I draw inspiration from geometric patterns, science illustration, Japanese woodcut and Escher. I enjoy tedious detail, precision in technique, accurate portrayal of species. I occasionally foray into mythology."
